byte level logging?

Hi!

I am using mgetty for an ISP. A requirement is to be able to log the
byte usage per connection. ie. to be able to get to byte usage per
customer and even to limit them to a certain limit.
I have not been able to find any package that can do this for me apart
from RAS.  There are probably a few hacks I could do to login or
something but I believe that this function is best suited to mgetty.

Is there any plan/though/musings about this??
