This is indeed strange. So the command is ok, if you send it from a terminal
program and it is not accepted, if it is send by vgetty. Can you please
change the settings for command_echo and command_delay? I would like to
know, if these parameters influence the way, the modem acts. Sounds like a
race condition in the firmware to me.
