This is not true in this general form. 3com/USR *Sportsters* are broken,
USR Courier are very good modems that can discriminate fax/data just fine,
while having a good fax implementation as well.
On the other hand, they do not have voice...
--> I think it's up to you to apply pressure to your local 3com/USR sales
rep to make them apply pressure to the USR Sportster development group to
fix their fax mode.
