It seems that vgetty is answering my phone, playing my greeting, and recording
the callers message just fine. But after the caller hangs up the modem dosent
let go of my phone line I just get this constant beep forcing a reboot.

My modem is a Jaton Modulator 56 ( http://www.jaton.com ).

Here is part of /var/log/mgetty/vg_ttyS2.log

important as far as showing the modem detected and the beep error.

any help would be appreciated.
