what is best (stable) pcmica ethernet/faxmodem?

I'd go for an external modem, if at all possible.  PCMCIA modems are
usually optimized for windows dial-up, not for fax.  Doesn't the laptop
have a serial port?

In any case, I use a 3com WorldPort 33.6 PCMCIA modem, and it works well.
I didn't do much fax testing with it, though.
