Run faxrunq from cron (man crontab), as usual.

Then set up a script that will do the GIF/postscript/whatever stuff, and
call "faxspool <number> <image>".  Run that script from cron as well.

Basically, it's pretty easy - the tool that you want is "cron", and its
frontend is "crontab".
