mgetty failed login

Could someone tell me what went wrong with this
ppp login from a win98 dial in. How or why did
mgetty use the AutoPPP as the user I tried rem'ing
out the line for a AutoPPP log in and still got the
user= AutoPPP

Not sure how this entered the picture

The last of the errors I have on a earlier post
but if you can solve this for me I would be
grateful : )
