vgetty from Elsa 28TQV -> 56K

I'm working on a voice-based fax-system, realized with vgetty on a
linux-machine. For testing vgetty
and my scripts, I used the own modem Elsa 28.8 TQV an everything works
well. So m boss decided to
buy his own modem and buy Elsa 56 K pro. Now nothing works well so far,
that means I can't get access
to the Hardware. For Example the modem speaker tells everything that is
sepak in the telefon-line, ... .
Have anybody the same problem. I rebuild vgetty from the package mgetty
1.1.18 an edit the file Elsa.c .

Last but not least I have a different problem:
The quality of the sound, that is played from vgetty, is terrible. Does
anybody know what to do with
Elsa-modems to get good sound-quality.
