Hi, there!

I experienced the same problem. A very strange thing is that events
get reported if I send "wait" after "DEVICE EXTERNAL_MICROPHONE" which 
is indeed very strange. But I experienced that this phenomenon did
only appear if no recording or playing happened before. So if I switch
to "EXTERNAL_MICROPHONE" AFTER having recorded a message, the modem
will hang up (I think that is ok anyhow).

After having read the log-files extensively a possible reason for this 
could be the flow control (in my opinion), as it is initialized HARD
but set to "HARD XON_IN" before recording a message.

Additionally flow control is a general problem with my USR Flash. I
tried to make up an answering machine with a perl script, but after
having processed incoming DTMF - tones, new recorded messages (e.g. a
new "emergency" greeting message which should be recorded via dialup - 
line) get corrupt after 1 second which is similar to the 
fax-flowcontrol-problem I read in some mgetty - documents. The thing
is that the log file reports the same flow-control-setting before
the initial recording (answering machine) and before the second recording
(emergency message), "HARD XON_IN".

Perhaps Marc or Gert or someone else can give some hints?
