Oops, you're right, it's not all that necessary.
What really motivated my wish for commandline specifiability of the
config file was something else: I find it difficult to keep track of
the directory in which to look for it. It is sometimes /etc or /usr/etc
or even /usr/local/etc (e.g. when compiled from an unmodified mgetty.spm
of SuSE 6.1). Also, I am quite happy with being able to specify locations
of uucp config files in uucico via commandline switch. This can be handy
for debugging.
