getting disconnected

Here in India, we have some exchanges which emit a "beep" every five
minutes or
so,
to signal call metering. It drives modems crazy, and they disconnect
every five
minutes.
One way of asking them not to is to specify S10=200 or some high number.
Also,
some lines have a auto-disconnect feature after a preset number of
minutes.
Could this be your problem too ?
