vboxgetty/isdn4linux/pvftools

I have a problem with vboxgetty (vbox v1.1)  and the pvftools.
I want to convert vboxgetty-recorded files to *.au files and have
it play on linux-boxes and on Windows-PCs as well.
A simple rmdtopvf  ... | pvftoau does NOT work.
The *.au-output file is of VERY poor quality and much too fast.
I have also tried it with pvfspeed -s xxx. This has also not solvd the
problem.

On the other hand: The recorded file performs very smoothly over the
telephone line !

There seem to be quite a lot versions of pvftools around  !?

Any hint appreciated.
