Couldn't resist adding my 2 cents here....

First of all, I work as a sysadmin in a company that resells dialup access
to ISPs. Imagine the number of complaints I see about spamming, abuse, etc.
We have many techniques that are used to isolate spam as much as possible...
but nothing is infallible.

It's ignorant to presume that the ISPs have complete control over their
customer
base. They don't, they can't. So, we try to work with them to resolve
the issues
(and our contracts demand it).

However, every once in a while you run into an ISP that appears not to care,
and has made it very difficult to talk to a "real human" about any issues
or abuse
(especially in an emergency like a DoS on a network). Good example is
Earthlink.

But given that understanding, this list has been pretty free of spam... and
if a few
messages make it through once in a while, it's easy to send it to their ISP
(the originating
site, anyways) and press the DELETE key. Carrying on a debate about it
totally
detracts from the list's purpose :)
