This is done with vgetty/mvm + the WWW gateway.

This could also be done with mvm alone. Why not make mvm easier
to install or use instead of restarting from scratch again ?

mvm either has a (built in) notification system, ie voice to mail,
and also, separately packaged, a WWW gateway (bidirectionnal).

yes, in mvm. Any mailbox user can read/write his mailbox.
