Firmwareupdate for Zyxel U1496B

Hello,

I want to update the Firmware of my Zyxel U1496B internal Modem. I have
downloaded the File rm616b.u24 and rm616.u25 have bured two new eproms an
insert them. Now the LED blinks (verly) slowly and the modem doesn't
respond anymore, even not echos the characters I send.

The old EPROM were label with:  
ZyXEL U1496B  503

On the board I have found:
PN 45-401-000003-REV 5A
S/N S2B0304884

I have checked the content of the EPROMs and have make sure they are insert
correctly.

Has anybody done this before and can tell what I have to pay attention on?
Or has anybody done an update to a U1496B with another Firmwareversion
which works with mgetty and can mail me the binaries?
