Are you talking about *m*getty or *v*getty? This is not very clear in
the paragraph above (and there are big differences!)
Anyway, on Linux, both mgetty and vgetty should compile easily (in *any*
version), as Marc is developing vgetty on Linux, and needs mgetty as a
base. I don't try every version on Linux myself, but do this in regular
intervals, and didn't find any version that didn't compile on Linux
recently either.
So, get mgetty-0.99-Aug07 from ftp.leo.org, edit policy.h accordingly,
compile, and if you get error messages, post the *messages* to the
list. We can assure you, it's supposed to work, but depending on the
state of the system libraries or header files, it may need some work
(and if you mess up policy.h, it definitely won't compile...). So,
we really *need* the error messages to say anything useful on this
topic...
