What device for Ghostscript with mgetty ?

Very weird. How did the pages come out on the remote end? Was this the
very same fax number that worked fine with dfaxhigh? Or another one, where
you don't have data whether it works with dfaxhigh? [This is a big
difference!]

Not that I know of.

The rendering is slightly different, and I liked it better. More
important, faxg3 is compiled in by default, while dfaxhigh is not, which
caused lots of questions from users with an "incomplete" ghostscript.

If the g3 files are broken, "g3cat file.g3 >/dev/null" should tell you so
(about bad G3 codes, or wrong line width problems). If neither g3cat nor
"viewfax -v file.g3" complain, the file is OK.
