Please go directly to 1.1.16, as 1.1.14 had a couple of minor (and stupid)
bugs.  It shouldn't really affect voice, but caller ID might be seriously
broken.

I would need a log file to comment on that... (the modem autodetection is
a bit hairy right now, the "fax and data" part does some kind of detect,
and the "voice" part does yet another).

Again, we would need a log file.  (I wouldn't comment on it, as I'm not
the voice expert, but others might be helpful).

Now *that* one is easy to cure.  Get the source code from 
ftp://alpha.greenie.net/pub/mgetty/source/1.1/ and then you can see all
the fine details.

I think this has something to do with the silence threshold.  Dunno, being
no voice expert.

Definitely yes.  All the ZyXEL modems use the same format, most Rockwell
based modems use the same format, and USRs have yet another format.
