init is respwaning too fast... Help

I got the latest cyclades drivers for the card and everything is working
great for the dialup's except init reports that mgetty on ttyC3 is 
respawining too fast.

The other three modems are working great. Could it be that mgetty is
talking to the modem faster then the modem reponds? Or could it be a
hardware problem with the modem on ttyC3?

My inittab entry's are:

d0:12345:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty -D -x1 -s 38400 /dev/ttyC0
