Hello All,

Mark Robinson here. I can't get MVM working, been working on it for a week.
I run Debian 2.0, on a system with two modems, on ttyS0 and ttyS1. They are
both Archtek 5634BTS modems. The debian mgetty package would not work with my
modems, some investigation led me to the US_Robotics.c file in
mgetty/voice/libvoice (1.1.17). I changed the VLS setting for internal speaker
in US_Robotics.c to 2 from 6, and vgetty works fine. An "ati4" in minicom
yields the following:

 When I dial the ttyS0 modem, the modem answers the line, but I get no
greeting message, in fact no answer at all. I am using the rsynth that came
with the debian package, I could not get the patch included with mvm to patch
the rsynth source. My modem will not play the greeting file that I specified
in the Index file, but I can play it manually with vm play. The following is

At the top of this excerpt, it says I set the modem to answer data first, I
can't find that in my mgetty.conf, or voice.conf.

I'm totally stumped. If anyone has a clue, please post it, I have done all I
can here.
