Problems with DTR

Hallo,

i have problems with mgetty and the DTR Line of a new Siemens-PC.
I don't say that mgetty IS the problem, but it's involved ...

The PC runs Linux (2.0.35) and i like to install mgetty for dial-in
to do some support.
The modem is an ELSA MicroLink 56k.
Mgetty initializes the modem and gets his OK after ini-chat, but
8 of 10 times DTR is not ON after that.
So if a Ring comes in, the modem does not inform mgetty and it does not
pic up the line :(
 
The init-string i use should be ok, because its from a machine which we
use on another location as dial-in server with four ELSA MicroLink 56k.
This server works without problems all day.

On my understanding it is mgetty which sets DTR after initializing.
I have installed some dozend mgetty's in the last 4 years and never
had such problems.
Could it just be a broken serial port on the pc ?

Can anyone help on this problem ?
