How to make the logfiles talk

Hi,

*iff* mgetty answered the phone, and the log level is high enough, and
you haven't truncated the log file without mgetty restarting, then you
will definitely see something in the mgetty logs.

UUCP will fail silently (which is very bad, IMHO) if it can't write
to the log file, or can't access some other critical paths.
