Errors with sendfax in 'normal' mode only?

Anyone know whether the firmware updates can be made
from a DOS boot disk?  Apparently I can download a 1.4Mb
'Update Wizard' that will update the modem firmware but
this would require that I remove the modem and put
it in a windows box, which seems kinda STUPID, if you
ask me ;)
