rare mgetty problem - again!

Hi!

mgetty-1.1.14-2 from RedHat 5.1 errors with NO CARRIER when I dial in with
minicom. Dialing out, minicom works fine! modem is 3COM Megahertz 56K
Global Modem PC Card. I'm using a laptop.

My inittab entry contains the options '-D -n 2 /dev/modem -x 9'.
'/dev/modem' is a link to /dev/cua2 - I didn't set this up...

I've changed the card, the cable, the phone outlet. I've run out of ideas.

Please help!
