I'd recommend upgrading your EPROMs if you possibly can.  I've
recently upgraded from an old version like yours to 6.20 (6.21 seems
to be available now) and haven't regretted it at all.  The ZyXEL
changelogs list many improvements in fax operation for the newer
versions.
