Any options that are valid can be applied - it's the user's responsibility
to make sure that no options collide...

As I don't even use Linux, it's hard to provide sample command lines that
work for all given Linux distributions, let alone FreeBSD and others...

Yes, manual reading & staring at the debug log file usually helps.
