Hello,

#1

If I set my rings to 5 (so I can pick up the phone while I am around) how can I
get mgetty/vgetty to always log the caller ID (by running the cnd-program) after
2 rings? If the phone doesn't ring 5 times, vgetty doesn't run the cnd-program.

If I pick up at ring 3, vgetty won't log the info (cnd-program). But, I still
need vgetty to wait until 5 rings before answering voice/fax/whatever.

#2

Once I get #1 working is there a program that I can run from my linux box to
send out this caller ID info after ring 2 to all Windows boxes on the lan (some
type of automatic popup window box? (preferably configurable - a pop up window
that doesn't take focus and saves window position - or something like that))

#3

Does the vgetty message_program have to be an .sh script? I tried making my
new_voice program a perl script but it didn't seem to work. I have to call the
perl script from an initial new_voice.sh shell script. Is this a true limit, or
did I do something wrong?

Thanks,

- john.
