Sure, why not?  If you can call up the second number, you can establish
a modem connection.

Unless you use ISDN *cards*, you will drop packets every now and then -
depending on the quality of the modems, the line, and the serial ports.
But that's normal and PPP can cope with that.

NB: For PPP, it doesn't matter whether that modem is class 1, class 2, class
92345 or whatever.
