version of mgetty that works with slackware 3.6 ?

Actually, every mgetty version more recent than 1.1.14 should work on
every Linux distribution out there - I regularily test against VERY old
installations.

So what kind of error messages are you observing?  Did you adapt
policy.h and Makefile to your needs?

I have no idea what a "distro" might be (sounds like something to eat),
but RedHat is a fairly nice distribution.  I never really liked lackware.

Sure.  That's what mgetty was written for.

Hmmm, "good", I can't say.  The main mgetty site is
