I admit that this really annoyed me as well :) - their reasoning for this
is that the AT+IFC=2,2 command is a stanard (V.25ter/V.253) while AT\Q3 is
not, and that using standardized command sets is *good*. I agree here.
What I do not like is that there's no easy way to find out whether the
modem can do \Q3 or +IFC=2,2 -- except trying AT+IFC=2,2, and if that
fails, fall back to \Q3. (Which isn't too unreasonable, as it can be
expected that AT\Q3-ELSAs will become less and less popular over time).
It's ugly, though, having one unavoidable ERROR in the logs...
One could add a new modem_quirk, for people knowing that they have a
\Q3-ELSA... what do you think?
