Could you please add the output of "tools/mid ttyS<n>" (<n> is where your
modem sits)?  It will automatically query all the ATI and AT+FMFR?
commands, and I can [later on] build a modem-autodetect database from
that.

Which version of mgetty+sendfax have you been using?  FAX_USRobotics
stopped existing in about 1.1.16 or so.
