Unmotivated hang-ups have been my worst problem. In fact, I recently
stopped using vgetty because it was spontaneously hanging up on callers. I
was getting short messages where callers' messages were cut off after, oh,
say, only 3 seconds.
Although I don't have a log file to share, I can say that I'm using a
Zyxel 1496E modem, Debian Linux 2.0.33, have rec_silence_len set to 70 and
rec_silence_threshold set to 40. Although I recently upgraded to vgetty
version 1.1.18, which I haven't tried yet, the unmotivated hang-ups were
on an earlier version, perhaps 1.1.14 or 1.1.16.
I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks,
Kingsley
