init fails, WHY?

Dear experts,
in order to set up a dial-in modem on a Sun IPC (Port A) we are using the
'mgetty' program from the 'mgetty+sendfax' package.
We have installed SunOS 4.1.3 plus the 'tty jumbo' Patch on the Sun and
our /etc/ttytab file looks like this:
# @(#)ttytab 1.7 92/06/23 SMI
#
# name getty type status comments
#
console "/usr/etc/getty cons8" sun on local secure
ttya "/usr/etc/mgetty -x 3 -s 38400 ttya" vt100 on remote
ttyb "/usr/etc/getty std.9600" unknown off local secure
tty00 "/usr/etc/getty std.9600" unknown off local secure
tty01 "/usr/etc/getty std.9600" unknown off local secure
.
.
.
Unfortunately we are registering regulary on the console the message:
hostname init: '/usr/etc/mgetty -x 3 -s 38400 ttya ttya' failing, sleeping
Is there any way to avoid, clear these messages?
Many thanks in advance
- Rainer
