the fax aliases are not usable directly from "sendfax", you have to use
"faxspool" for aliases to work.

Faxspool will look the alias up, and place the phone number in the "JOB"
file for sendfax.

It is not supposed to. Sendfax is a backend, not meant to be called by
users. That's what "faxspool" (or other frontends) are for.
