Thank you for your advise Gert, but that semms to be not the problem. You are
right of course, it is the example file. The file is really where the system
looks for. Here is a piece of a dump of a session:

mauch:/var/spool/voice/messages# pwd
/var/spool/voice/messages
mauch:/var/spool/voice/messages# ll
total 5
-rw-r--r--   1 root     root            5 Nov 18 16:39 Index
-rw-r--r--   1 root     root         3616 Nov 12 15:36 beep

I think it looks all right to me. 
 
So, what do You think where is my problem?
