start ppp-dialup by calling vgetty (either dtmf or detecting number of rings) ?

Hi,
I use vgetty for voice, fax and dialin. My linux box unses
ppp to connect to our uni-network/internet. Sometimes I need
to access my box from anywhere outside via internet (there is
no modem available).
So I´d like to start the ppp-dialup of my linux box by
doing a simple phone call and sending dtmf-commands. If vgetty
recognizes the code, it should drop the line and start the
ppp-dialup.
I´ve read the /mgetty-1.1.14/voice/doc/Readme.voice_shell and
everything in /scripts/ but I do not really understand what´s
to do :(
Is there anybody outside who has either a running script to do
something like that oder an RTFM for "standard" users ;) ?
Gert ?
Would it be possible to avoid the cost of a phone call
by detecting the number of incoming calls ?
I´ve just thought of something like this:
standard operation (vgetty, 5 rings)
...ring....ring....ring....ring....ring...[answer: voice,fax,dialin]
. or :
..ring...ring ...end [detected 2 rings, waiting one minute
for a second call with ecaxtly _one_ ring.]
..ring... end [detected 2nd call, start ppp-dialup]
Ciao, Bjørn
