caller id + German Telekom

Does anyone know a fax/voice modem that works with mgetty's caller id
recognition on a German Telekom line ?

I tried with some modems, but only a few accept the AT#CID command. None of
them recognizes the caller id though it is shown in the telephone display.

Well, when I opened the case of those modems I found that part of the circuitry
around the telco line connector has been left out ....
