Pine is Just Broken when it comes to handling PGP/MIME mails.  ELM is
better (but can't check the PGP signature).

So the complaints should really go to the PINE authors/maintainers, have
them add proper PGP/MIME support.

I know that you have very little time remaining, but I'd really be sorry
to see you leave the mgetty list just because some users user broken
mailers...

(Yes, I don't use PGP *now*.  But this might change.  As RJ has pointed
out: it's very important to be sure that the author of a patch sent to a
public mailing list is known to be "genuine".  It's too easy to fake
e-mail).
