Anything new on USR Sportster 56k

archives.  This is a well known Sportsters-are-dumb problem.

For a workaround, find the following lines (faxlib.c, about line 358):

    else                                /* standard case, working modem */
   {
        sprintf( buf, "AT%s=%d,%d,0,2,0,0,0,0",
                 (modem_type == Mt_class2_0) ? "+FCC" : "+FDCC",
                 fine, (max/2400) -1 );
    }

and change the LAST ",0" in the sprintf line to ",5".  The USR Sportsters 
violate the class 2.0 specs, but this sometimes helps.
