Up to that point, everything looks fine.

MUCH garbage - a few bytes are "normal", but not 100s of them.

And by far not enough fax data.

That's what the modem admints itself...

And then it fails. Could be a case of "very bad phone line", or yet
another case of "Sportsters no fax".
