My aim is to set up a simple system to answer the phone,
play a greeting, record a message, and forward it as an
email attachment; when the recipient selects the attachment
(in mutt for example), it will be played thru the modem's
speaker jack. I've tried the latest vgetty patch and it
doesn't recognize my IS-101 voicemodem (on a Debian 2.x system);
not being a programmer, I don't know how to get past the "no
voice modem detected". Could someone briefly outline what
the missing pieces are in order to set up such a vgetty ->
email system, and what skill/time would be required to
develop the missing pieces? I read the list via usenet; it
is not necessary to cc me.
