Is it an USR Courier, or USR Sportster? The Sportster are crapware, but
the Couriers are very good. Especially, for the Couriers, there is a new
firmware (X.2) which has very good fax/data capabilities (but no voice).

I'd keep the USR, at least if it's a Courier. If it's a Sportster, you
might want to look for a firmware upgrade, maybe that helps.
