Well, basically all class 2[.x] modems *do* have that capability. It's
not worth being mentioned, because it is supposed to be there.

So I'd just try it.

... unlike class 1 modems, which do *NOT* have that capability, except in
rare cases.

Depends on your needs, and whether fax or data or voice is of the highest
importance to you.
