Just an idea:
Is it possible to send someone an audible message via a voice modem?
I'd think that's what they are made for.
Assume you are sitting somewhere, have net connectivity but
no phone in reach. But you can dial into a machine that has
a modem connection.
Now it would be ideal to prepare either an audio file or
a textual message that can be translated into a machine voice
and sent to a voice phone number.
When the connection is made the opposite side can hear the
acoustical message being played, saying:
"Give my mother a call and send her Merry Chrismas wishes,
I'm at the Northpole at the moment at www.northpole.world
with only my notebook. My portable phone fell into an ice fault"
Or "due to a catchcold I lost my voice temporaily".
or something.
