Well, if your modem is weird enough, it's possible that it receives faxes
with the wrong bit order as well.
I have to add, though, that I've never seen a modem that has made problems
with the bit order used by recent sendfax versions for sending. There are
various problems with receiving bit order (Rockwell bugs...), but none
with sending.
