Mindlink Brain to Robot

Amateur and professional robot-makers have an opportunity to join
with the mind-makers of Project Mentifex in building a stupid but
first-of-its-kind intelligent automaton that acts on its volition
to pursue goals: maintain itself; reproduce; have obedient pets.

In response to Usenet postings about Mindrexx AI in December 1994
a professional engineer and amateur builder of talking mobile ro-
bots journeyed from California to Seattle WA and taught a session
on Forth programming at the origin of Project Mentifex, where the
Mindrexx program was unsuccessfully being rewritten as Mindforth.

Although the Mindforth project bogged down in June of 1995, there
remains a path of glory if the maniacally driven dreamer-builders
of small, primitive robots study up on the Mentifex AI design and
adapt it in a high-powered NON-MOBILE computer linked to a robot.

Please consider how the motor options of an infant organism first
operate by random chance, as when human babies wave their arms or
legs spontaneously, thus learning intellectually that they indeed
possess motor options. Knowledge of motor options is passed down
the human or MACHINE mind-grid from infancy to maturity in such a
way that the motor memories remain DYNAMIC; that is, motor memory
engrams CONTROL the individual flexors of the output motorium and
unavoidably CAUSE motor events when the sum totality of voluntary
thinking about motor options exceeds motor activation thresholds.

Your task, should you persist in your obstinacy to build the best
robot ever devised by human ingenuity or folly, is first to grok:

There is a tide in the affairs of men,
           Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
