Thanks for the information. I thoroughly enjoy this H-F application
for using wonders of the planet. I am a new member of this crowd, and
still working some the bugs out of my computer understanding, so
please excuse any errors or omissions in the technical aspect. I am
learning, and welcome useful hints or lessons. This learning applies to
more than the use of computers.

The first twenty-five or so years of my life we 'had' the Catholic version
of the bible and opinions with respect to reading it. Thanks be to God
that I read Revelation from the KJV, and was sore afraid. Things
developed from there - but one year my wife and I received a NIV
version to read in a format for convenient readings over the year. I
was not a Christian veteran by any means (still not so), but knew I
did not like the way it was written. I first thought it was more like
riding an 1100 Gold Wing motorcycle, and going back to a 250 cc cycle.
To put it another way; it seemed like reading an elementary school
novel (Hardey Boys?) after reading some of the classic literature.

I did some research and discovered some things that were enough to
make me finish the year with the KJV. Some of the deletions and
changes described on the web page - www.av1611.org/nkjv.html -
you referred to in the note were noticed. Little did we know how
many, but we saw enough. We now read the bible from
Genesis to Revelation each year from the KJV (though sometimes we
have to finish in January; like this year).

My wife, children, and myself went to a funeral today at a PAOC
church (= AOG in the states I believe), and the minister read from
the NIV while we followed along in our KJV. It was not the same
scripture (Phillipians Ch. 1, I think - online which is like
outloud). I didn't see the 1769 AV of the KJV on the page, but does
anyone have comments.

To finish my first 'public' utterance over the H-F setup, I'll just
mention that there are other things on the web page "Dial The
Truth Ministries" which are in err, so as always keep on the whole
armour of God.

I aim for the finish line and wll keep the faith.
