Long Post!

Bro. Brown"
I would like to know what you think on the time the OT
dispensation ended, and when the new testament church age
began.

Me:
Jesus indeed fulfilled the Law. I hear the thief on the
cross
thrown out as an excuse not to be baptised. Under the Law
ones
sins were "forgiven" or "covered" by a sacrifice. Jesus
was the sacrifice for the thief on the cross, He died
first, remember, so that the thief was "covered" under the
Law.

Now, what was the High Priest doing at the very moment
Jesus died? It was the passover and the High Priest was
walking to the veil with the blood of the "passover" or
pascal lamb on his finger
to sprinkle the Ark of the covenent (which had to be there
or they wouldn't have had any reason for a passover
feast-'nother topic)
for the "corperate" sins of the Jewish nation. When Jesus
cried and gave up the Ghost, the veil was torn in two from
bottom to the top (from the Earth up) and the "gate to
Heaven" was opened.

This was the fulfillment of the Law for the nation of
Israel and was the "sign" they were looking for from Heaven
all along and sounded the "death nell" for the dispensation
of Law.

Salvation was then in the baptism of repentance, which was
then acceptance of the FULL manifestation of Christ at that
time. Those who had the baptism of John unto
repentance had accepted the sacrifice under the Law and had
Identified with the death of the Lamb. This is why Paul
"rebaptized" those that had the baptism of John. Either
way, any that had accepted the baptism of repentance could
enter into the Holy of Holies by the "blood" of the real
Pascal Lamb.

When Jesus came forth from the Tomb, he told Mary not to
touch Him since He had not ascended to Heaven YET to
sanctify the Temple and serve as High Priest.

Even before the building of the O.T. Tabernacle (foreshadow
of the Temple) the "sacrifice" was accepted "until" the
Tabernacle was sanctified. In like manner the "blood of
Jesus" was accepted as payment until the heavenly
Tabernacle was sanctified.

Conclusion? The dispensation of Law ended with the death
of Jesus. When He died there was no OTHER sacrifice that
would cover either the individual or any nation. The
Church age began
when Jesus died but the FULL manifestation of the means of
redemption didn't manifest until the day of Pentecost.

Remember that in the Garden the dispensation of Innocence
ended when they disobeyed and that they first had to
"repent"
THEN came the sacrifice THEN the "covering."

The Law dispensation ended when there was no longer
justification under the Law. The Chruch dispensation will
end when there is no longer justification under Grace.
Remember that the dispensation of grace didn't negate the
Law but enhanced it just as the next dispensation will not
do away with Grace but enhance it. Faith in the death,
burial and resurrection will be meaningless since the
resurrected Christ will be before your very eyes!
Salvation will be through faith in something else, I don't
know what but it can't be the same as it is today. Similar
but different.
