An interesting note to the cosmetic issue:
Jude 8 Likewise also these [filthy] dreamers defile the flesh, despise
dominion, and speak evil of dignities. 

Definition of defile:

AV - defile 5; 5
1) to dye with another colour, to stain
2) to defile, pollute, sully, contaminate, soil
   2a) to defile with sins

Those that defile the flesh with stain or dye.  Sounds like make up.
