My personal Do-I-have-time-to-read-this test: If I have to scroll to read a message, and it's not written by one of the people whose messages I make a point to read, then I don't bother. Totally unrelated item: Today, somebody said to me, "... and just hit the *carriage return* when you're done typing." I was working on a PC.
